Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the EU

Greece is positioning itself as India’s primary strategic gateway into the European market—and the newly concluded EU–India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) is set to redefine cross-border investment and talent mobility.

While the Agreement aims to double bilateral trade between India and Greece to USD 4 billion by 2030, physical infrastructure like the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) relies heavily on the right regulatory framework to operate seamlessly.

In the latest publication from our Global Mobility Department, we examine how the FTA’s mobility provisions intersect with Greek immigration law to facilitate corporate expansion and talent transfer:

  • Key Talent Pathways: Overview of temporary movement mechanisms for Intra-Corporate Transferees (ICTs), contractual service suppliers, and business visitors.

  • Bridging Qualification Gaps: Mechanisms under Annex 8-B for Mutual Recognition Agreements in high-value sectors such as engineering, technology, and logistics.

  • Proactive Market Entry: Why companies must classify travellers, verify corporate structures, and audit regulated-profession requirements before the deal enters into force.

Turning policy into a high-speed commercial corridor requires removing procedural bottlenecks through structured mobility planning.
