Koutalidis Law Firm is proud to have advised the Consortium of Fraport AG – Delta Airport Investments S.A. (a company of the Copelouzos Group) – PILEAS HOLDINGS S.A. (a company of the Konstantakopoulos Group) on the signing of the concession agreement on the right of administration, management, operation, development, expansion, maintenance and exploitation of the Kalamata International Airport “Captain Vassilis Konstantakopoulos”.
The concession agreement, signed on the 22nd of June 2026 at the Growthfund Investor Summit 2026, marks a significant milestone for one of Greece’s most dynamic regional airports. The agreement was concluded between the Hellenic Republic, the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (Growthfund, the National Fund of Greece) as Grantor, the concessionaire company KALAMATA AIRPORT S.A. and its shareholders — Fraport AG, Delta Airport Investments S.A. and Pileas Holdings S.A. — providing for a 40-year concession, an upfront consideration of €45 million and a total investment programme estimated at €125 million.
The investment plan envisages a comprehensive upgrade of the airport’s infrastructure, aimed at significantly increasing capacity, enhancing passenger services and the overall travel experience, and strengthening the region’s international connectivity, while supporting the further development of the local community and the continued growth of Greek tourism.
Kalamata Airport has in recent years established itself as a key gateway to Messinia and the Peloponnese, with steadily growing passenger traffic reflecting the region’s rising appeal as a world-class destination. This transaction is expected to unlock significant new development prospects for the area and contribute to the continued growth of the Greek economy.
We thank the Consortium for placing their trust in us and congratulate all parties and advisors on the successful completion of this landmark transaction.
